Yacht broker headed off to Afghanistan with Reserves
SEATTLE P-I, Jan. 1, 2007 -- Landlocked in the Middle East: Jonathan Ives, who heads the Northwest Yacht Brokers Association, is scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan for one year, beginning Jan. 20.
Northwest Yacht Brokers Executive Director to Serve in Afghanistan
SEATTLE, Dec. 26, 2006 -- The Northwest Yacht Brokers Association, a regional trade group of over 340 recreational boat brokers and dealers, announced Tuesday that its executive director, Jonathan Ives, a colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves, has been called to active duty for a one-year deployment in Afghanistan.
Researchers develop fuel-efficient boats at WSU
THE DAILY EVERGREEN, September 27, 2006 -- The Emerald City got a splash of WSU hydraulic ingenuity at the Lake Union Boats Afloat Show in Seattle earlier this month. The event, which lasted Sept. 13 to 17, showcased new boats with hydrofoils constructed by Konstantin Matveev, a WSU assistant professor of mechanical and materials engineering who arrived at WSU in the summer.
