NYBA Annual Meeting
May 7, 2008
In accordance with the membership bylaws we will have our 2008 Northwest Yacht Brokers Association Annual Meeting on Wed. May 7, 2008 at the Lynnwood Convention Center. This will be an all day event starting at 9am and concluding at 3pm. We have not yet booked all of our keynote speakers, so if anyone has any ideas or recommendations please contact the NYBA office.
NYBA will have educational speakers from numerous industries to help promote our association as well as individual and business members. This event will be worth 6 credits toward recertification for CPYB. We are encouraging all members to attend this event. Please RSVP to Emily in the association office at 206-748-0012.

Mid Term Legislative Report

House Bill 2470: Authorizes the Department of Natural Resources to issue aquatic land use authorizations less than a full lease, such as easements, licenses, permits, and rights-of-entry.
House Bill 2472: Seeking to improve recreational opportunities on state-owned lands managed by the department of natural resources.
House Bill 2817: Clarifies roles and procedures for processing methamphetamine contaminated vehicles and vessels.
• Requires the owner to have a vehicle, motor vehicle, or vessel contaminated with methamphetamine chemicals to be decontaminated, demolished, or disposed of by an authorized contractor within 30 days of receiving an order.
• Makes it illegal to advertise for sale or to sell a vehicle, motor vehicle, or vessel that has been declared unfit and prohibited from use if the person has knowledge that the vehicle or vessel has been found to be contaminated with methamphetamine chemicals.
• Adds the requirement that the Department of Licensing place notification on the title of vehicles and vessels that have been declared unfit and prohibited from use by order of the local health officer; and place notification on the title after decontamination has taken place and is released for reuse.
