Auction of Washington Wines Benefiting Uncompensated Care
at Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center
In August, NYBA along with association member Adventure Yachts teamed up with the Washington Wine Commission at the 19th annual Auction of Washington Wines to benefit uncompensated care at Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle.
Along with providing Boats Afloat Show tickets to patrons attending the annual three-day event, an exclusive winemaker dinner cruise aboard Adventure's newly arrived, custom 76-foot Legend Motor Yacht, was auctioned-off.
In The cruise for eight, along with Chef Vicky McCaffree of Yarrow Bay Grill and Greg Lill of DeLille Cellars — serving as personal cruise sommelier for the winning bidder, fetched over $9,000 of the $1.9 million raised to help families in need facing a child's medical crisis. In 2005 Children's provided $35.8 million in financial assistance to nearly 57,000 families.
“The Northwest community has been extremely generous to the boating industry,” said Jonathan Ives, Executive Director of the Northwest Yacht Brokers Association. “Giving back by helping families of Children’s, through such a great charity, is a blessing and gives us a sense of being a part of a greater community.”
